HOT Strategies, each reflecting a synthesis of the HOT Schools Core Components, strong arts, art integration and democratic practice, provide structured paths to facilitate the implementation, reinforcement and enhancement of the HOT APPROACH. HOT Strategies demonstrate the value of creating unique learning environments that support and celebrate a child’s individual voice while giving each the tools needed to become a creative, successful life-long learners.
HOT Strategies are designed by program staff and by the educators and administrators in participating HOT Schools. Individual HOT schools adapt and apply these strategies in different ways according to the needs of their unique school culture. They provide opportunities for teachers to engage students in active learning, stimulate independence, and encourage students to be responsible and contributing citizens in the school community.
