CORE Teacher Artist Collaboration (TAC) Planning Day
In HOT Schools, artists are teaching partners. The passion, commitment, and skill that artists bring to the classroom open doors to creative and critical thinking for students and teachers. HOT Schools pairs skilled teaching artists with skilled K-12 teachers to create dynamic long-term, arts-integrated, learning experiences called Teacher-Artist Collaborations (TACs). TACs are a critical component of the HOT Schools Program. They are planned with a rigor that expands and deepens the traditional teaching artist residency, taking residencies to the next level. TACs provide:
classroom teachers with arts-infused strategies for delivering core content,
artists with deeper insight into the curriculum, and
students with rich opportunities that encourage them to identify, connect, and synthesize ideas and concepts between and among disciplines.
HOT Schools TAC Planning may be observed by individuals and/or teams of teachers from non-HOT Schools to better understand how the process leads to successful collaborations.
Appropriate for: individual arts and non-arts classroom teachers, teaching artists, parents and arts/cultural organization educators
Fee: $25 for non-HOT Schools participants
Registration will open September 7, 2017
