HOT Schools Exploration Days provide an opportunity to experience the HOT Approach in action. Participants are invited to observe and will be guided through the ways in which Spotlight HOT Schools structure instruction through the HOT Schools core components of strong arts, art integration and democratic practice. Spotlight HOT Schools shares the same broad goals identified in the Common Core State Standards readiness anchor standards for reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language, and HOT practices affect work habits (imagination, investigation, construction and reflection) identified by National Core Arts Standards. HOT School Exploration Days are appropriate for arts and non-arts classroom teachers, teaching artists, parents and arts organization educators.
